How it Began
My journey started in 2010 when my husband, who was in the Army deployed to Iraq and took this opportunity to finally shed the 25 pounds I’ve gained throughout the past year. I started walking on the treadmill and gradually worked my way up to running. I loved it so much I took a Running Clinic and learned proper running form and the importance of wearing proper running gear. Here I met a very special friend who would later encourage me to train and run my first half marathon. I was hooked and the rest is history.
Running helped me shed the weight but it also taught me that with patience and consistency anything is possible. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever think of running 13.2 miles and I did it. I run to escape not from life, but to find peace within myself and to feel free and empowered.
Through beautyhealthyfit I hope to not only share my health and fitness experiences I’ve learned along the way but to encourage others to find beauty in every stage of life.
